About Me

Hi, I’m Jacqueline, the one-person team behind Hear Me Out Speech Pathology. I believe everyone deserves to be heard – not for who someone else thinks they should be, but for who they truly are.

 

My journey to speech pathology has been a winding path, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I started out working in playcentres and outside school hours care, soaking up all the chaos, laughter, and brilliant little moments that happen when kids are free to explore and communicate in their own ways.

 

Whilst working in these roles, I studied a Bachelor of Education at Federation University and went on to work a few years as a casual relief teacher across mainstream and specialist schools in the local area. This work taught me so much about the incredible variety in how kids learn, interact, and express themselves. It also drives my interest in the area of literacy assessment and intervention.

I then continued my studies at Australian Catholic University and completed my bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2020.

 

All of these experiences have fed into my work as a speech pathologist over the past six years. I get to do the part I love most: helping children, families, and individuals communicate in ways that feel authentic, empowering, and joyful.

​

I am also a late‑diagnosed AuDHDer, so I understand through lived experience what it is like to navigate the world as a neurodivergent person. This perspective shapes my neurodiversity‑affirming, compassionate approach to therapy.

 

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me at a reformer Pilates class, unwinding after a long day of talking with a good TV show, spending quality time with family and friends, or navigating life as a dog mum of a very fluffy and cheeky pup.
